We train each piano craftsman on exact dismantling and hand restoration to restore the external beauty of each piano and bench. Each of our seven steps calls for precision hand-tooling, to get a finish that preserves the wood value while maintaining the natural wood-grained beauty or etched design.

1. Our non-pollutive water based stripper removes old finishes and debris quickly, without leaving the wood open to moisture damage.
2. To complete the stripping process, our precision craftsmen hand-inspect every inch to gently remove stubborn areas.
3. The specially developed lacquer thinner cleans up any remaining stripping residue, and prepares the pure wood surface for coloration.
4. Only hand sanding will smooth out imperfections or blemishes, leaving the natural wood grain.
5. Your choice of color finish penetrates the wood, creating a striking look and showing off the character.
6. Six coats of protective sealer keeps moisture out, but lets the wood breathe, to prevent drying and cracking.
7. Up to eight coats of your choice of high-resilient lacquer finish gives the wood depth and luster.
